As Earth Week wraps up, we’re reflecting on the work underway across Rogers Stadium to reduce waste, cut single-use plastics, and make every show more sustainable for our fans and our community. These efforts are part of Green Nation, Live Nation’s global commitment to lowering the environmental impact of live events — and they’re only possible through close collaboration with partners like Liberty Oak View Entertainment, who oversee food and beverage offerings at Rogers Stadium and help bring these initiatives to life.
Last season, our partnership with Impact Cleaning reshaped how waste is managed across the venue. A dedicated 24/7 sorting team separated materials into multiple streams — from cardboard and mixed recycling to organics and liquids — helping us divert 65% of waste from landfill. With that foundation in place, we’re aiming to reach a 70% diversion rate for the 2026 season.
We also made considerable progress in eliminating single-use plastics. Compostable utensils and food service ware were used site wide replacing traditional plastic options. While canned water and plant-based disposable cups helped us avoid more than 550,000 single-use plastic bottles. Draft Top can cutters further reduced the need for more than 320,000 additional cups.
New partnerships helped us go even further. Go Zero enabled specialty recycling, diverting 1,800 lbs of typically non‑recyclable items. And during four Coldplay shows, a reusable cup program with Muuse returned more than 114,000 cups to circulation — diverting 7,100 lbs of waste and avoiding nearly 14,000 kg of CO₂ emissions.
Across the venue, more than 30 refillable water stations — supported by Event Water Solutions, Oland, and Brita — helped save an estimated 650,000 single-use plastic bottles.
Our efforts also included partnering with GreenGear to have fully compostable ponchos for fans as well as using sustainable hydrogen vegetable oil to help reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.
As we look ahead, we remain focused on advancing Green Nation goals and continuing to reduce our environmental impact at Rogers Stadium.
