The next generation of Toronto musicians is getting a boost, thanks to a new $20,000 investment in local schools from Live Nation Canada. The funding, delivered through MusiCounts — Canada’s leading music education charity — will support music programs at St. Norbert Catholic School and Ancaster Public School in the heart of the Downsview community.
The announcement comes as Rogers Stadium prepares to launch its second concert season, marking another milestone for the venue and the surrounding area. Since opening in 2025, the stadium has drawn major artists and fans to Downsview, creating new opportunities for local businesses and community partners. This latest investment extends that impact into local classrooms, where students will directly benefit from expanded access to music education.
For Live Nation, the partnership with MusiCounts reflects a long‑standing belief that strong music ecosystems start with strong music education. “Rogers Stadium was built to bring world‑class music talent to Toronto, but its impact goes far beyond the shows on stage,” said Wayne Zronik, President of Business Operations, Live Nation Canada. “Investing in local schools through MusiCounts is one of the lasting legacies of Rogers Stadium. We’re proud to help students discover music, and we hope to see some of them performing at venues like Rogers Stadium one day.”
MusiCounts, which has supported music education across Canada for more than 25 years, says the investment will make a meaningful difference for students in the Downsview area. “The long-standing partnership between MusiCounts and Live Nation embodies our shared belief that Canada’s music ecosystem gets its start in the music classroom,” said Kristy Fletcher, President of MusiCounts & COO, CARAS/The JUNO Awards. “We’re honoured to be celebrating the second season of concerts at Rogers Stadium with this investment in the local community.”
For schools, the funding means access to new instruments, updated equipment, and the kinds of resources that help students build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong connection to music. It also strengthens ties between Rogers Stadium and the neighbourhoods that surround it — reinforcing how live music can spark opportunity both inside and outside the venue.
